Abstract
Statin-fibrate combinations are commonly used to treat hyperlipidemia, Thes e drugs have been previously reported to cause rhabdomyolysis with acute re nal failure, Whether different statin-fibrate combinations have different r isks for rhabdomyolysis is not known. We report a patient who developed rha bdomyolysis with acute renal failure pomptly after switching from the combi nation of pravastatin and fenofibrate to simvastatin and gemfibrozil, Copyr ight (C) 2001 S.
