The study relates to the power consumption, mixing time and mixing efficien
cy defined as the product of the mixing time and the power consumption in a
non standard vessel equipped with various axial and mixed dual-impeller co
nfigurations. The effects of the rotational speed, gas flow rate, impeller
type and diameter are investigated. The mixing mechanisms are found strongl
y dependent on flow patterns, impeller type and diameter. Dimensionless cor
relations are proposed to predict power consumption and the mixing time bey
