Abstract
The difference between the wavelengths of peak reflection of two Bragg grat ings is directly measured using the dispersion properties of optical fibres . When both gratings see the same varying temperature, while only one of th em is exposed to the stress field, this method provides temperature-indepen dent stress measurements.
