They ar e likely to have become chemically contaminated with a wide range of substa nces from the manufacture of iron and steel, and the many associated proces ses. The aim of this research was to draw toge ther information on the contamination of former iron and steel works throug h a review of current literature and by the use of examples acid case studi es from the UK.
