L. Kos et al., The effect of H2O2 concentration on pollutant decomposition in textile waste water treated with the advanced oxidation method, FIBRES TEXT, 8(3), 2000, pp. 80-83
The effect of H2O2 concentration on pollutant decomposition in textile wast
e water treated with ozone and subjected to UV radiation has been investiga
ted. All experiments were carried out on real waste water from cotton dyein
g, issuing from textile mills in Lodz. The waste water was treated with ozo
ne, hydrogen peroxide and UV radiation in the acidic, near-neutral and basi
c median. The following combined treatment techniques were applied: H2O2 O-3: H2O2 + UV and H2O2 + O-3 + UV Crude and treated waste water tons analy
sed and its pH, specific colour and colour, thresholds GOD, BOD5, anionic d
etergents and soluble substances were determined. It was found that, in gen
eral, better results of waste water treatment were obtained when lower dose
s of hydrogen peroxide, i.e. up to 2 cm(3)/dm(3) of waste water were applie
d.
