Wolfram tailing glass-ceramic was prepared using wolf ram tailings, feldspa
r, limestone, soda ash, and thenardite as the starting materials. The effec
t of heat-treatment on the crystallization was investigated by differential
thermal analysis, powder X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscop
e. The results indicate that nucleation at 670 - 690 degreesC and crystalli
zation at 900-950 degreesC forms uniformly distributed cross-grown column-l
ike crystals in the glass structure.
