This paper reviews the experience of the Inspection Validation Centre (IVC)
in the UK in applying the ENIQ approach to qualification internationally i
n countries including the UK, Sweden, Finland, Bulgaria and South Africa. T
he IVC has operated in support of utilities to develop and implement qualif
ication, in support of utilities to develop and implement qualification, in
support of utilities to develop and implement qualification, in support of
regulators to develop and implement qualification, in support of regulator
s to develop qualification systems and also as an independent qualification
body. The experience gained has demonstrated the effectiveness of the ENIQ
approach and also its flexibility. The lessons which have been learned are
presented including both the benefits and problems and ways in which impro
vements can be made are identified.
