Abstract
Correlation of the data for the reaction of 11 substituted 4-pyrimidine car boxylic acids with diazodiphenylmethane (DDM) in dimethylformamide (DMF) wi th calculated atomic charges on the carboxylic group showed that the reacti on in this solvent may proceed via a concerted transition state.
