A dynamic vibration absorber is mounted on a cutting tool against vibration
s in turning operations. It is shown that the dynamic vibration absorber ca
n reduce the magnitude of the frequency response function of the cutting to
ol. As a result, vibrations can be effectively suppressed in the cutting pr
ocess when the dynamic vibration absorber is attached to the cutting tool.
Experimental results performed in turning operations are presented to illus
