Abstract
Determining the cooling rate of a rapidly-solidified (RS) technique subject ively is a prerequisite of knowing the RS technique, and it is difficult. M odel of heat transfer is constructed in this paper in order to calculate co oling rates of rapidly-solidified Ti48Al alloy. Rapid solidification techni que utilized is the plasma rotating electrode process (PREP hereafter). The results show that: the cooling rate of PREP is at the scope of 10(2)simila r to 10(3) K/s.
