We have obtained accurate values for the electric dipole moment and static
dipole polarizability of ScF In the ground vibrational state the dipole mom
ent is mu = - 0.592 ea(0), the mean and the anisotropy of the dipole polari
zability <(<alpha>)over bar> = 102.02 and Delta alpha = - 21.42 e(2)a(0)(2)
E(h)(-1). The electric properties vary as mu (R)/ea(0) = - 0.590 - 1.139(R
- R-e) - 0.058(R - R-e)(2)
