Rupture of a renal artery aneurysm during pregnancy is a rare went, with a
high mortality rate for both mother and fetus. Until now, 25 cases have bee
n reported in the English medical literature. Renal salvage with in situ re
pair of the renal artery has been documented in only four cases, and succes
sful ex situ repair and autotransplantation in only one case. We report the
case of a mother and fetus who both survived acute rupture of a renal arte
ry aneurysm after treatment with ex situ repair and autotransplantation.
