Re. Van Vliet et al., Pressure-induced phase separation of polymer-solvent systems with dissipative particle dynamics, MACROMOL TH, 9(9), 2000, pp. 698-702
Dissipative Particle Dynamics (DPD) can be used to simulate the liquid-liqu
id phase separation behaviour of polymer-solvent systems. However, the DPD
model fails to predict the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) behav
iour common to many of these polymer-solvent systems. In this article, a me
thod analogous to the extended Flory-Huggins theory is presented to overcom
e this shortcoming.
