This paper presents a method fur determining the relations between the heig
ht of foaming aluminum melt and the foaming time in the foaming process. Ba
sed on image analysis. the effects of the foaming time on the pore size dis
tributions in the foamed aluminum samples are studied. Dynamic models are u
sed to explain the evolution of the structure of the melt foam in the foami
