The correlations between orientations of neighboring grains have been inves
tigated in a Fe-50%Ni alloy after primary recrystallization and normal grai
n growth. Boundary misorientations have been determined by systematic measu
rement of individual grain orientations by Electron Back-Scattered Diffract
ion (EBSD). It is shown that the recrystallization process in Fe-50%Ni give
s rise to noticeable orientation correlations for Sigma3 " and low-angle or
ientation relationships. Such correlations result mainly from the non-rando
m spatial distribution of orientations and from the grain size dependence o
n orientation developed in these alloys during recrystallization. In the pr
esent alloy. the grain growth process leads to minor variations in the orie
ntation correlations associated with low-angle misorientations and reduces
considerably those related to Sigma3 " orientation relationships. (C) 2001
