Abstract
The management options in the treatment of patients with ductal carcin oma in situ of the breast are reviewed. Results of treatment by mastec tomy, wide local excision, and local surgery followed by radiotherapy are analysed, Factors which incline the surgeon towards recommending m astectomy and the conditions which should be fulfilled for breast cons ervation are discussed.
