Abstract
The purpose of this work was to evaluate the physical, physical-chemical an d chemical characteristics of fruits from nine genotypes of acerola (Malpig hia sp.) growing in Anapolis, GO, Brazil, located at 1,000 m above sea leve l. Data showed that the production of fruits with high content of vitamin C (above 1,000 mg/100 mt of juice) is viable in that region. However, it was found a considerable variability among the genotypes studied, in which gen otypes numbered 2, 6, 3, 1 and 7 stood out, fulfilling the main industrial requirements.
