Abstract
A new definition in terms of atomic, quantum phenomenon, constants of nature or employing electrical units is needed to solve the stability problem of kilogram prototype which is increasing approximately at the rate of one microgram per year. Effort towards possible new definitio ns of kilogram is highlighted.
