Mm. Rahman et Im. Spiridonova, MULTICOMPONENT SOLID-SOLUTIONS ON THE BASIS OF IRON BORIDE FE2B, Indian Journal of Pure & Applied Physics, 35(4), 1997, pp. 296-298
It is well known that the hardness of iron alloys are increased remark
ably by the addition of boron. The properties of such alloys may be op
timized by using alloying elements like Cr, Mn, Si and Al. Formation o
f binary, ternary and multicomponent solid solution on the basis of Fe
2B were studied. Investigation of mechanical properties indicated the
increase of hardness and decrease of brittleness of iron boride owing
to formation of multicomponent solid solution on the basis of(Fe, Cr,
Mn, Si, Al)(2) (B, C).
