Abstract
We consider the Bose-Einstein condensate in a parabolic trap as a macroscop ic quantum oscillator and describe, analytically and numerically, its colle ctive modes - a nonlinear generalisation of the (symmetric and antisymmetri c) Hermite-Gauss eigenmodes of a harmonic quantum oscillator.
