Abstract
This paper presents a mixed-sensitivity H-infinity design for the ALSTOM ga sifier benchmark challenge. The controller has been designed with the linea rized plant model at the 100 per cent operating point. Performance and robu stness specifications were expressed in the frequency domain. The controlle r has been tested on the 0, 50 and 100 per cent load models. Input and outp ut limits were not exceeded during the tests apart from the gas pressure wh en testing the controller on the 0 per cent load model. Clearly, this desig n demonstrates the effectiveness of an H-infinity approach in stabilizing t he gasifier for different operating points with good robust performance.
