Abstract
EPR spectra of magnesite indicates the presence of Mn(II) in the mineral. T
he optical absorption spectrum is due to Fe(II) in the mineral and is in oc
tahedral coordination. The concentration of iron in sample is very low wher
e as manganese is not in the detectable range.
