Abstract
Diffuse subcortical MRI signal abnormalities were seen during a subacu te exacerbation in a patient with Hashimoto's encephalopathy. The pati ent had an excellent clinical response to corticosteroids. Clinical re covery paralleled normalization of MRI abnormalities and lowering of t hyroid microsomal antibody titer.
