Abstract
We study a purely viscous flow of a non-Newtonian fluid obeying the power-l aw in an exterior domain. We pro re that for pseudo-plastic: fluids the Sto kes paradox does not take place, while for tho dilatant fluids it takes pla ce in any space dimension n if the flow index is larger or equal to n.
