Abstract
Syntheses of optically active ether-linked beta-lactams and aza-prolin e analogues via 4-bromo-2-hydroxybutanoic acid esters derived from (S) - or (R)-malic acid are described. From these intermediates peptide se condary structure mimetics can be synthesized. (C) 1997 Elsevier Scien ce Ltd.
