Abstract
Amides were allowed to react with nitric oxide in aprotic and non-ethe real solvents to give the corresponding N-nitroso derivatives. The rea ction was accelerated Dy addition of oxygen. The solvent effect reveal ed that the reaction did not proceed in the presence of protic media. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
