Abstract
A new dynamical subgrid model of 2D turbulence has been recently derived fr om the rapid distortion theory. This model is based on an hypothesis of non locality of the interaction of the scales of turbulence. The validity of th is hypothesis was demonstrated by numerical simulation in 2D turbulence. It is supported here for real 3D turbulence at high Reynolds number by a spec tral analysis of hot wire measurements in a turbulent boundary layer.
