Abstract
A relation between optical electronegativities and some physico-chemical pa rameters of alkali halides are proposed. The estimated refractive index, op tical susceptibility, electronic polarizability, magnetic susceptibility, h eat of atomization, bond energy, ionization potential, plasma energy and la ttice energy values are in good agreement with the values cited in the lite rature. The proposed equations are simple and have the advantage over other s that less computational work is involved in the calculations of physico-c hemical parameters of alkali halides.
