Posterior dislocation is a well-described complication of plate-haptic intr
aocular-lenses (IOLs). It usually occurs after an opening in the posterior
capsule, either intraoperatively or after a neodymium:YAG capsulotomy occur
s. We report a case of anterior luxation of a plate-haptic silicone IOL occ
urring 4 months after uneventful cataract surgery. This case emphasizes the
need for a small and continuous capsulorhexis as well as in-the-bag implan
tation of plate-haptic IOLs.
