Abstract
Single crystals of stishovite have been grown from hydrothermal solution in the system SiO2-H2O under a pressure of 9-9.5CPa within a temperature rang e of 1170-770K. Well-faceted, transparent crystals of prismatic habit with (1 1 0) and (1 1 1) faces whose size was about 0.6 x 0.6 x 1.2 mm(3) have b een obtained. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
