Databases as interactive applications on the Web are a very up-to-date, pro mising and perspective solution. Internet global network supporting distrib uted manufacturing is a new philosophy of manufacturing in which distribute d participants of machining process can communicate with each other interac tively. Distributed manufacturing concept includes production planning and scheduling; CAD/CAM system as a part of production planning process has to be adapted to new condition of CAD/CAM exploitation which creates new chall enge in CAD/CAM development.
