The majority of dermatology services occur within managed care systems

Our aim was to document how much managed care has penetrated dermatology ba sed on dermatologists' experience. We conducted an anonymous survey at an E ast Coast dermatology conference in March 1998. One hundred thirty-two derm atologists responded. The response rare was 29%. The mean percentage of man aged care in dermatology practices was 55% Dermatologists expected the prop ortion of managed care to increase to 65% of their practices by 2001.
