Abstract
Motivated by the problem of linear mode conversion between ducted internal gravity waves in a sheared Row, we construct a variational principle based on a Hermitian evolution operator, obtained from Larsson's Hamiltonian form alism. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
