Early severe intrauterine growth restriction associated with Seckel syndrome

This report describes a case of severe intrauterine growth restriction in t he mid-trimester that, owing to its typical features originally termed 'Bir d-headed dwarfism', could ultrasonographically be diagnosed as Seckel syndr ome. The diagnostic approach and the differential diagnoses of early growth restriction and of Seckel syndrome, respectively, are discussed.
