Abstract
Reactions of active oxygen forms with the most important biomolecules, lipi ds, proteins, nucleic acids, and polysaccharides are reviewed. Reaction mec hanisms are analyzed, and relationships between disturbance of the metaboli sm of active oxygen forms and development of various diseases, as well as s ome problems of functioning the antioxidant system of the organism are cons idered.
