Abstract
Spectral and calculated data were used to establish that in acetonitrile th e complexes of trimethoxy(8-quinolylthiomethyl)silane and -silatrane with Z nCl2, as well as of trimethyl(8-quinolylthiomethyl)silane with PtCl2 have a chelate structure. The complexes of these compounds with SnCl4 contain a s trong N-->Sn bonds, and the CuCl2 complexes are represented by an ensemble of coordination compounds of two types: N-->Cu-bonded and chelate. All the complexes show almost no tendency to dissociation into the initial componen ts.
