Abstract
The influence of experimental conditions on the compositions and yields of crystalline phases in the UO2MoO4-M2MoO4-H2O systems (M is an alkali-metal or ammonium cation) is studied. The compounds of the morphotropic series wi th the general formula M2UO2(MoO4)(2).H2O, where M = K, Rb, Cs, or NH4, are synthesized hydrothermally from aqueous solution at 160-180 degreesC. The compositions and some physicochemical properties of the mixed uranyl molybd ates are studied in relation to the nature of the outer-sphere cation. The IR spectra and thermal behavior of the compounds are studied.
