Vm. Paasonen et al., Synthesis and thermal stability of fluorinated graphite intercalation compounds of pentafluoropyridine, RUSS J IN C, 46(1), 2001, pp. 44-46
The composition and physicochemical properties of a fluorinated graphite in
tercalation compounds (FGICs) with pentafluoropyridine were studied by IR a
nd NMR spectroscopies. X-ray powder diffraction, and elemental analysis. As
found by mass spectrometry, the intercalation compound releases pentafluor
opyridine in two steps: the first is observed between 313 and 483 K, and th
e second sets in at similar to 590 K simultaneously with matrix decompositi
on.
