Phase equilibria in subsolidus regions (700-800 degreesC) of Ln(2)O(3)-ZrO2
-MoO3 systems were investigated using X-ray powder diffraction, differentia
l thermal analysis, and IR-spectroscopy, The following binary molybdates of
rare-earths and zirconium were found to form: Ln(2)Zr(3)(MoO4)(9) (for La-
Tb, Y), Ln(2)Zr(2)(MoO4)(7) (for Sm-Ho, Y), and Ln(2)Zr(MoO4)5 (for Tb-Lu,
Y). Thermal and crystal parameters of the compounds obtained were determine
d. Photoluminescence spectra for one of these compounds, namely Eu2Zr3(MoO4
)(9), were measured.
