Pa. Chernavskii et al., Effect of oxide-oxide interaction on the catalytic properties of Co/Al2O3 in carbon monoxide hydrogenation, RUSS J PH C, 74, 2000, pp. S550-S552
The effect of oxide-oxide interaction on the catalytic properties of Co in
CO hydrogenation was studied using a Co/Al2O3 catalyst as an example. It is
shown that suppression of oxide-oxide interaction by modifying the surface
of the Al2O3 support with magnesium oxide enhances the catalytic activity.
The formation of MgAl2O3 spinel on the Al2O3 surface decreases the Lewis a
cidity of the surface and, as a result, changes the amount of carbon deposi
ted on the catalyst surface during hydrogenation.
