Intrathoracic desmoid tumor of the posterior mediastinum with transdiaphragmatic extension. Report of a case

We report on a de nova desmoid tumor of the posterior mediastinum with tran sdiaphragmatic extension in a 40-year-old man, The tumor was inoperable bec ause of its location and the invasion of adjacent structures. Although extr emely rare, desmoid tumors of the posterior mediastinum should be considere d in the differential diagnosis of posterior mediastinal masses.
