Abstract
Langmuir-Blodgett film of an amphiphilic heteroaromatic styryl dye, 2-(4-di hexadecylaminostyryl) benzothiazole methiodide (I), was fabricated from RuC l3 subphases, and was characterized by using UV-VIS spectra and XPS measure ments. Experimental data indicated that addition of RuCl3 into subphase is favorable to the second harmonic generation of the films, but unfavorable t o photocurrent generation from the film. Effects of some factors such as bi as voltage, methyl viologen (MV2+), O-2 and hydroquinone (H(2)Q) On the pho tocurrent generation have also been investigated. Based on the experimental data, a possible scheme concerned effect of RuCl3 on the SHG and photocurr ent generation of, the films was proposed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. A ll rights reserved.
