Abstract
Four new species of Laboulbeniales collected on insects in New Zealand are described and illustrated: Cucujomyces phycophilus sp.nov. parasi tic on Macralymma brevipenne Cameron and Omaliomimus conicus (Fauvel) (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Omaliinae), Diaphoromyces kuschelii sp.nov . parasitic on Menimus spp. (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae), Diphymyces pe nicillifer sp.nov. parasitic on Stenomalium helmsii (Cameron) (Coleopt era: Staphylinidae: Omaliinae), and Stigmatomyces novozelandicus sp.no v. parasitic on Sapromyza neozealandica Tonnoir & Malloch (Diptera: La uxanidae). All of the new species are compared with exiting taxa. In a ddition, Smeringomyces trinitatis Thaxt., Stigmatomyces purpureus Thax t., and S. spiralis Thaxt. are recorded from New Zealand for the first time, and a review of the known species of Laboulbeniales from New Ze aland is presented.
