Abstract
Two human immunodeficiency virus-infected patients with refractory dissemin ated Mycobacterium avium complex infection were treated with recombinant in terferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) given subcutaneously for 3 and 4 months, respect ively. Although both patients demonstrated some clinical improvement initia lly, IFN-gamma therapy did not produce sustained benefit.
