Abstract
Because of the very important role of oxygen plasmas in Various application s, both direct current and microwave discharges have been analysed from the point of view of emission spectra properties. In both cases silica dischar ge tubes with practically the same diameters were used. The following trans itions of the oxygen discharges were studied: the atomic lines at 777.4 nm (P-5 - S-5) and 747.1 nm (D-3 - P-3(0)), and the head at 759.4 nm of the at mospheric system (b (1)Sigma (+)(g), v = 0 - X (3)Sigma (-)(g), v = 0).
