Abstract
A second-order nonlinearity is induced for the first time in a holey fibre by thermal poling. Non-phase marched second harmonic generation with a simi lar to 10(-8)/W conversion efficiency is observed and thr electro-optic coe fficient is measured to be similar to0.02pm/V.
