Abstract
The structure of the jamming plus clutter covariance matrix is analysed in the context of space-time adaptive processing (STAP) for sideways-looking a irborne radar. A bound on the rank of the matrix is derived under the assum ption of idealised conditions. It is shown how the rank deficiency of the m atrix can be exploited to derive simple. computationally efficient, process ing solutions.
