Abstract
In a series of 18 concrete samples, the influence of several parameter s related to composition and production processes on the radon exhalat ion rate was studied. The investigated parameters were: amount and typ e of cement; water-cement ratio, curing conditions and curing time, ty pe of aggregates, compressive strength, and water evaporation rate dur ing conditioning, Strong positive correlations with the calculated rad on emanating power were found far the evaporation rate and the water-c ement ratio. A negative correlation was found for the compressive stre ngth. The results are discussed with respect to the capillary pore vol ume and pore size of the concrete samples.
