Abstract
The chemical composition of the essential oils obtained from the herbal par ts and different plant pal ts of Nepeta argolica Bory ct Chaub. subsp. argo lica was examined by GC and GC-MS. Sixty-two constituents were identified. The major constituents were found to be stereoisomers of nepetalactones (94 .5-68.0%). 4a alpha ,7 alpha ,7a beta -nepetalactone was isolated and ident ified by H-1- and C-13-NMR.
