G. Schmid-ott et al., Conflict and solution oriented inpatient psychoanalytic therapy of patients with anorexia nervosa und bulimia nervosa, GRUPPENPSYC, 36(4), 2000, pp. 355-366
Patients with anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa often benefit from psych
oanalytic relationship-oriented treatment. After a demonstration of the pow
er and positive possibilities of the psychoanalytic procedure, more detail
is given of the limitations of this approach in view of the present state o
f research. New concepts, such as salutogenesis, goal attainment, resource
orientation and symptom and solution orientation require further developmen
t of the psychoanalytic approach in the inpatient treatment of eating disor
ders. A new model, "conflict and solution oriented inpatient psychoanalytic
therapy" is described, and it is demonstrated how the integration of behav
iour, solution and resource oriented approaches into a psychoanalytic conce
pt can be realized by goal attainment.
